Power to the people at the Executive Hire Show
The 12th annual Executive Hire Show is less than a week away (7th and 8th February 2018 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, UK). The Show has become a magnet for hire industry professionals and each year its support grows as the biggest name suppliers to the UK hire industry commit to exhibit – the Show may only be a two-day event, but its reach and its influence continue throughout the hire industry throughout the year.
Here we take a look a selection of the new power and lighting products on display at the event.
Doosan Portable Power is showing for the first time, the new G20IIIA generator and 7/31+ compressor generator incorporating a new 8.5 kVA on-board generator from Doosan Portable Power.
The new G20IIIA generator from Doosan Portable Power provides a prime power output of 19 kVA and is driven by a Yanmar 4TNV88 19 kW diesel engine, meeting EU Stage IIIA engine emission regulations for generators. Sharing a similar design to the G40-IIIA to G200-IIIA platforms launched previously, the new G20IIIA generator offers robustness and reliability, high performance and a wide choice of features to meet the needs of temporary power applications.
Of particular interest for the rental market, the fuel tank configuration on the new G20IIIA generator will ensure autonomy of at least 47 hours at 75% of the load. Safe and easy access to operation and maintenance areas has been a priority throughout the design of the new generator.
Another development from Doosan Portable Power on the EHS stand is a new generator option for the company’s portable compressor range aimed at the utilities industry and rental companies serving this sector. The new 8.5 kVA generator option meets a specific requirement in utility work to meet the demands of the latest fusion welding equipment, providing electrical power that can also be used for lights and tools together with compressed air for powering breakers and other pneumatic equipment.
Trime UK will be showcasing their fast selling X-ECO LED lighting set. The X-ECO LED is a compact, energy saving lighting tower with sustainable features built-in as standard.
The Trime team will also be inviting visitors to examine their new X-ECO-BATTERY lighting tower that boasts no fuel costs, zero carbon emissions and little routine maintenance, whilst completely eliminating noise pollution. With the X-ECO-BATTERY’s compact dimensions up to 12 units can be transported on one single truck helping to save vehicle costs and reduce traffic on the road. The X- ECO-BATTERY is ideally suited to provide safe lighting for outside events, construction sites and highway projects. This summer a leading specialist lighting hire company trialled several X- ECO-BATTERY sets at a number of high-profile festivals, events and shows. They reported a very positive response from event managers who noted the impact of low noise and zero carbon emissions.
Alongside the X-ECO and X-BATTERY will be Trime’s newest lighting the tower the X-CHAIN. This latest innovation from the Trime production line is a dual voltage (110/240v) 7m lighting tower that can be linked together and powered from one single source – ordinary mains or a generator. Up to 10 X-CHAINs can be connected providing a line of lighting towers for construction sites, outside events and trackside. X-Chain has very compact dimensions for easy handling and transportability, with up to 32-units loaded one single truck.
Morris Site Machinery is showing many new products at the Show this year and will include its revolutionary new Halo lamp breaking new ground in soft light with its virtually indestructible casing and powerful anti-glare diffused light; the single operator-friendly trailblazing TL60 Trolley light and the new TL55 100% Battery tower.
Centre stage, will be the first reveal of its brand-new compact SL80 Pallet light. With a standard pallet sized footprint, this static 8 metre mast lighting tower is a highly transportable and compact new addition, enabling 22 units to be loaded on a euro trailer. The model is designed with multiple customer specification options to bring real flexibility and customisation to the sector. With 265 hours running time, and 4 x 300w LEDs delivering over 130,000 lumens, the SL80 Pallet can also carry the new Halo lamp.
Kohler presents a new development of its platform of diesel engines, designed to meet the requirements of a market that demands more application flexibility and compliance with the various emissions limits, along with performance and productivity.
KOHLER Flex™ is the range of solutions for emission control that Kohler has designed to enable each configuration of the KDI platform to comply with all emissions standards and regulations, worldwide.
At the heart of KOHLER Flex™ there is the clean combustion of KDI engines that enables the adoption of a compact, state-of-the-art DPF to meet the Stage V emission standard.
The engine combines the clean in-cylinder combustion of KDI engines, made possible by high-pressure common rail (2000 bar), 4 valves head, turbocharger and cooled EGR, and the most compact aftertreatment devices (DOC, DPF and SCR) to comply with all emission requirements.
These efficient and reliable systems can be deployed in many combinations to achieve effective emissions solutions for the different markets.
Vanguard™ will showcase the petrol powered EFI 37HP engine at the Show the unit has been specifically designed and engineered to deliver durable performance making it an ideal power source for rugged and hardworking landscape equipment.
Key brands that operate prolifically within the hire industry have specified the 4-stroke OHV engine on commercial-grade woodchippers and shredders as an alternative to diesel power and also offers great power to weight ratio to ensure machinery remains under a total weight of 750 kg.
The robust and high-performance engine offers a range of features and benefits including; chokeless starting even at low temperatures, unparalleled power to weight ratio, advanced debris and a cyclonic air-cleaner for advanced protection against dust and dirt, making it ideal for landscape applications. In addition, an automotive-based closed-loop electronic fuel injection (EFI) system delivers easier starting and improved performance with fuel savings of up to 25%.
