Daniel Pinder - October update

“Well, November is drawing to a close, and as I write there are just 6 more Saturdays before Christmas. This gives you time to plan your visit to the 2018 Executive Hire Show – the must attend event for passionate hirers such as yourselves.

The show is great for catching up with fellow hirers and innovative suppliers which are sure to showcase a multitude of new products. In this industry do you offer anything that little bit different?

As I’ve been clocking up the miles visiting hirers promoting the Executive Hire Show, and also Altrad Belle whom I’m employed by (promoting our new patent-pending Generators, Pressure Washers and Reversible Plate Compactors) the mood has been generally very up-beat with a very positive outlook into next year.

One of our hirers, Hire Services Southern, are that busy that they’ve simply outgrown their current premises over the past few years. A move to a much larger, modern, purpose built unit takes place in the not too distant future which really does confirm the confidence that this long-standing family company has in our business.

Alex Warr, Operations Director, will be attending the Executive Hire Show, as this is one of the few showcases he has to view manufacturers new machines and avail himself to show offers which will be available.

Another long-standing customer of mine, is on a growth plan at present, however I shall have to keep this one under under wraps for now, but branch additions will be the order of the day here.

Good signs that people are enthused by our industry are those who are investing large amounts of money into brand new, greenfield businesses. One such company, A13 Hire, has the premises, a large industrial unit next to their scaffold manufacture and hire business. This is being fitted out presently and they will be in attendance at Coventry with a shopping list, hoping to take advantage of the show deals.

Leighton Hire Centre’s Director, Lauren Williams, hopes to attend the show for the first time!!! Previously her father and MD, Steve, a real character within the industry has attended alone, however this time they’ll be taking it in turns, so this is quite an exciting time for her. Shown is Lauren and Daniel Goodyear her Workshop Manager.

All in all it’s been great few weeks, with very little negativity – except the usual ‘Brexit’ themed stories of doom!!!

p.s. Has anyone ever seen a Transit pick-up with masses of pipe over it’s roof at an angle, pulling a plant trailer with a 1.5t digger on the back try and go through a McDonalds drive through? Pipes snapped on entry, bin knocked over whilst in reverse!!”
