Robert Godfrey - December update

Hope you all had a nice Christmas. It’s really getting cold out there now! December has been another great month on the road, but it seems like I am hardly seeing the sun at all anymore! Still, we have the Executive Hire show to look forward to and it’s only a few weeks away now.

At the start of December, we had the regional roadshow which was a great success. I had some great conversations with the Chris, Jason and Roger from Artisan, Paul from the Hire Shed, John from Yeovil Hire as well as many others who attended on the day. My boss Bob even made an appearance as you can see from the pictures.

So where have I been this month? Well I had a great trip to Bristol where I got to drive under the beautiful Clifton Suspension Bridge. Although the bridge is over 150 years old it has only ever been closed once due to wind and that wasn’t until 2014. It was also the site of the first ever modern bungee jump. You wouldn’t want to have been the first to try that, would you!

I was able to see some great hirers in Bristol such as Colin at West Tool, Andy at Lightweight Tool and Neal at ladder Hire. The Bristol hire community is really a great one and it’s good to see so many members of our industry so positive about the year to come.

Another trip I have taken as part of this promotional tour was to my home town of Cardiff to see some hirers around South Wales and the Vale of Glamorgan. I met with Stuart at Valley Tool Hire, Claire at GAP Hire Cardiff and RAN Hire down in Barry (Home to Gavin and Stacey – one of the best comedies the BBC has ever made in my somewhat biased opinion).

I was also able to spend a day up in northern Oxfordshire where I met with Steve at Gem Hire and Sales, a great business which is growing really well.

Next time I write one of these blogs It will be early February and we will be on the cusp of the executive hire show. If I don’t see you beforehand, I hope to see you all there!

Oh and before I forget… Happy New Year!
