Robert Godfrey - November update
It’s been another great month of doing calls for the Executive Hire Show national visitor campaign, especially in the run-up to the regional roadshow in December. From what I’m hearing, attendance is going to be high just like last year, and everyone is looking forward to a drink and a catch up.
So where have I been this month then? Well I’ve had a great trip around Mid-Wales, meeting with Alan the new Hire Manager for B.Jenkins in the beautiful town of Brecon (where my partner is from coincidently). I’ll be keeping an eye out for Alan at the Brecon Jazz festival in the summer! I then drove North to meet with John at Masco Tool Hire, a great business in Builth Wells, home to the annual Royal Welsh farming and agricultural show. I then drove down to Llanwrda to see Gareth at A&B Plant and Tool Hire, then down to CME at Ystradgynlais.
I spent a bit of time around Wiltshire and Southern Oxfordshire. Jason from Artisan in Swindon has told me that he will be attending both the regional show in Bristol and the National show in Coventry. I then went and met with John at Helpful Hirings on the outskirts of Thame.
I also saw Matt at Thames Valley Excavators in Abingdon, which is where Old Speckled Hen beer was first brewed (a personal favourite of mine). I have been told that it is traditional in Abingdon for local dignitaries to throw buns from the roof of the local museum at crowds of people below on special occasions (such as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee). Apparently, the museum has a collection of historically thrown buns from the 19th century, preserved in varnish! The things you learn doing this Job!
On Monday I will be driving to the Belle factory to load the van with Machinery for the Regional Roadshow at the Holiday Inn in Filton, Bristol. We will be bringing down loads of great kit, including our new Generators and Pressure Washers, and I’m sure the other suppliers will have some great new products too.
Hope to see you all there!
