Steve Watkinson's December update
The following is an email that I received from a hire company after I had visited them. It is rewarding to see that our visits are appreciated and that the Executive Hire Show and EHN provide such an invaluable service to hirers!
Thank you for coming to see our business at Roadside Technologies Ltd, my name is Chris Moseley and I'm the owner. As you can see our fairly new hire company provide some of the latest and innovative solar powered equipment in the hire sector which I'm assuming isn’t normally seen. From LED VMS (Variable Message Signs) which are used in the Highways Traffic Management sector and Construction sector to a range of solar powered Speed Detection Signs for slowing site traffic down. Some are even capable of capturing images of speeding vehicles including their registrations for enforcement purposes but shhhh we won't tell everybody that!
In January 2018 we moved away from importing equipment from suppliers and we now build all equipment ourselves which has not only boosted our workforce by adding fabricators but also our ability to deliver equipment faster. We’re continually developing products to meet client requirements which currently include solar powered Lighting Tower solutions and CCTV/ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition). All equipment is remotely controlled via our web app on a laptop or smartphone which shows functionality such as battery voltages, Solar intake, Real-time CCTV footage, GPS Asset locations and for lighting towers, the savings gained against traditional diesel powered units are significant!
Before setting up Roadside Technologies Ltd I used to work for another hire company which I managed for 9 years. During this time we visited the Executive Hire Show many years ago. Whilst it was interesting to see the direction and diversity of the exhibitors on offer it didn’t have as much of an impact as large parts weren’t relevant to my job role at the time. Now being a business owner the Executive Hire News Magazine is fantastic to see the direction in which construction and hire industry are heading in. For example, we’ve recently purchased new plant delivery vehicles from seeing a picture of another company showing theirs in the magazine. Better than that, it turns out the company are on our doorstep in Chesterfield and we would have never known!
Going forward in to 2019 and the orders and enquiries we’re receiving from the construction sector, we’re expecting to increase our fleet size and hopefully look to exhibit at the Executive Hire Show going forward. Demonstrating our capabilities at the Executive Hire Show I feel we can continue our expansion and provide innovative solar powered solutions to the UK hire and construction industries, all of which are made in the UK."
